How does identity verification work for a business owner who isn't a Paysavo customer?
If a beneficial owner, control person or director on your business's KYB application doesn't already have a Paysavo account, Paysavo emails them a private, one-time link (valid 14 days) to complete identity verification directly — this never creates a personal Paysavo account for them.

Most beneficial owners and control persons named on a business's KYB application are not themselves Paysavo customers. They still need to prove their identity before your business's application can be approved, but Paysavo does not create a personal Paysavo account for them as a side effect of that check — the two are kept deliberately separate.
How it works
1. From your business's KYB application, you invite the owner (they need a valid email address).
2. Paysavo emails them a private, single-use verification link. The link is valid for 14 days.
3. They open the link, accept a short consent statement, and complete a guided identity check (photo ID plus a liveness/selfie step).
4. Once complete, the evidence is attached to their record on your business's application only — never to a personal Paysavo user account.
Only one invitation link is ever active for a given owner at a time — if a new one is sent (for example, because the original expired or wasn't received), the previous link stops working automatically.
A few important notes
- If the owner already has their own personal Paysavo account, they cannot be invited this way — a competing verification would create ambiguous evidence for the same person. Contact support if this applies to one of your owners.
- An owner who is itself a company (an entity shareholder) is not directly verified — instead, the natural people who ultimately own or control that entity are the ones invited.
- If the invitation link has expired or already been used, ask your business to resend it rather than trying to reuse the old link.
What to do next
Make sure each owner's email address is entered correctly before sending an invitation — an invalid or undeliverable address is rejected before anything is sent. If an owner reports never receiving the email, double-check the address on file and consider resending.
