Local, Regional, and Global eSIM plans: what the labels mean
A Local plan covers one country, Regional covers more than one country in a group, and Global covers most of the world with a single eSIM — Paysavo calculates "Regional" itself rather than reading it as a label from the provider.
When browsing Paysavo eSIM plans you'll see three plan types:
- Local — data for a single destination country.
- Regional — one eSIM that works across a group of countries.
- Global — one eSIM that works across most of the world.
Why this matters when comparing plans
"Regional" isn't a category label handed to Paysavo directly — it's worked out from how many countries a plan's coverage list actually includes. A plan explicitly marked "global" by the provider is shown as Global; anything else covering more than one country becomes Regional; anything covering exactly one country is Local. This means the type shown always matches the actual coverage list on the plan detail page — if you're checking whether a specific country is included, the coverage list on the plan is the source of truth, not just the type badge.
