Does the capitalization of my crypto withdrawal address matter?

Paysavo checks that an address matches the expected format for the selected network, but it does not require or enforce a specific letter-case (checksum) on Ethereum-style addresses — enter the address exactly as your destination wallet gave it to you.

On this page

Ethereum-style addresses (used for networks like ERC20 and BEP20) can be written in all-lowercase, all-uppercase, or a mixed-case "checksum" format, and some wallets display or expect one particular case. Paysavo's address validation checks that the address has the right overall format for the network you selected, but it does not require a specific letter-case.

How it works

For Ethereum-style addresses, Paysavo's format check accepts any combination of upper and lowercase letters in the address — it confirms the address is the right length and made up of valid hexadecimal characters, but it doesn't verify or enforce mixed-case checksum formatting the way some wallets do.

What to do next

  • Always paste or type the address exactly as given by the destination wallet or exchange, rather than manually changing its capitalization.
  • Because Paysavo's check won't catch a case-related typo the way a checksum-aware wallet might, double-check the address carefully — ideally by copy-pasting it rather than typing it by hand.
