Why is my ACH or wire transfer still showing as processing?

ACH and wire transfers are bank-to-bank rails that go through an external banking partner, so they can take longer to reach a final status than an instant Paysavo-to-Paysavo transfer — here's what "processing" means and when to reach out.

On this page

If a Send Money transfer using ACH or Wire is sitting at "Processing" longer than you expected, that's usually expected behavior for these rails rather than a sign something's wrong.

How it works

Not every transfer settles the same way. A transfer between two Paysavo accounts is an internal, instant transfer, but ACH and Wire transfers leave Paysavo's own systems and go through an external banking partner before they reach a final state — so they inherently take a bank-to-bank round trip that an internal transfer doesn't need. While that's happening, your transfer shows as "Processing," which means Paysavo has accepted it and is waiting on the external side to confirm the outcome.

This is a normal part of how these rails work, not just at Paysavo but with bank transfers generally, and it isn't the same situation as a transfer that failed at submission — those show a specific error immediately (see our Send Money transfer failed article for that case) rather than sitting at Processing.

What to do next

  • Check your transaction's current status in your transaction history — Processing means it's still moving through the rail, not that anything has gone wrong.
  • If it's been an unusually long time and the status still hasn't changed, contact Paysavo support with the transaction reference so it can be looked into rather than resubmitting or sending a second attempt.
  • Don't submit a second, duplicate transfer to "make sure it goes through" — see the "Possible duplicate transfer" guidance in our Send Money transfer failed article for why that can cause its own problems.
