Send Money vs. Withdraw — what's the difference?
Send Money and Withdraw use the same underlying flow in Paysavo — the difference is just whether the payout account belongs to you or to someone else.
On this page
If you've noticed that sending money to someone and withdrawing money to yourself feel like the same flow in Paysavo, that's because they are — the difference is just who the payout account belongs to.
How it works
- When you set up a payout, you choose between paying a saved recipient, adding a brand-new recipient, or paying yourself ('My own account').
- 'My own account' uses a payout method you've marked as your own — for example your own bank account — and is what's generally described elsewhere as a Withdrawal.
- Paying a saved or new recipient sends the money to someone else's payout details, and is what's generally described as Send Money.
- Both use the exact same set of payment rails (bank transfer, Interac e-Transfer, EFT, and so on) and the exact same statuses (Pending, In process, Under review, Action required, Success, Failed, Cancelled, Refunded/Reversed) — nothing about how the transfer is processed changes based on which one you picked.
What to do next
If an article or a status you're reading refers to 'withdrawals', it also applies to money sent to someone else, and vice versa — you don't need to look for separate documentation depending on which term you saw.
