Tracking the status of a money transfer
A transfer moves through distinct stages — submitted, pending, completed, or held for review — and only one rail settles the instant you send.
After you send money, your transfer will show one of a small set of statuses depending on how far along it is. Most transfers are not instant — the money is 'submitted' (accepted by the payment network) before it's fully settled, and that's completely normal.
How it works
- Completed — the transfer settled immediately. Today this only happens for a wallet-to-wallet Paysavo Pay transfer.
- Submitted — the payment network or provider has accepted your transfer, but it hasn't finished settling yet. This is the normal in-between state for every other transfer rail (for example, Interac, bank transfers, mobile money).
- Pending — still queued or being processed.
- Under review — held for a compliance or manual review step rather than a technical delay.
- Failed — the transfer didn't go through.
What to do next
If your transfer shows 'submitted' or 'pending', that's expected while it finishes settling — there's no need to resend it. If it's been an unusually long time, or it shows as under review, see 'What to do if a transfer is delayed'.
