Someone sent me a Paysavo payment request — what do I do?

A Paysavo payment request arrives as a link (by email or text) showing the requester's name, the amount, and their note; you can open it, sign in, and choose to pay or decline it, and it will show as expired if you wait too long — treat it like any payment request and only pay it if you recognize the request and the person.

On this page

If you received an email or text with a Paysavo link asking you to pay someone, that's Paysavo's Request Money feature — the same idea as a PayPal or Cash App payment request.

How it works

The link takes you to a public landing page built specifically to handle these requests safely. Before you're signed in, it only shows you what was already in the notification you got — the requester's display name, the amount, and their note — it does not expose the requester's or your own personal details beyond that. What you see next depends on the request's current status:

  • If it's still pending, you're offered the option to pay it (you'll need to sign in first if you aren't already).
  • If it's already been paid, cancelled, declined, or has expired, the page reflects that instead of offering a pay option.

If you don't already have a Paysavo account, you can still open the link — the page is designed to work for someone who isn't a customer yet, without requiring you to create an account just to see what the request is.

What to do next

1. Open the link from the email or text you received.
2. Confirm the requester's name, the amount, and the note make sense to you.
3. If you recognize the request, sign in (or sign up) and choose to pay it.
4. If you don't want to pay it, decline it from the same request instead of ignoring it — this tells the other person you're not paying rather than leaving them guessing.
5. If it's expired, ask the sender to send a new request.

A word of caution: as with any payment request app, only pay a Paysavo request if you recognize both the amount and the person asking for it. If a request looks unexpected or the requester is unfamiliar, decline it rather than paying, and don't act on urgency in the message alone.
