Why did my withdrawal fail?

A withdrawal shows Failed when the payout provider conclusively confirms no transfer was created or that the transfer was rejected — when that happens, no funds are sent, and if your wallet was already debited it is credited back.

Direct answer

A Failed withdrawal means the payout did not reach your recipient — the payment provider either rejected the transfer outright or confirmed no transfer was ever created on their side. No funds leave Paysavo in that case. If your wallet balance had already been reduced for this withdrawal before the failure, that amount is credited back to your wallet as a separate, deliberate reversal (see [Reversed or refunded transactions](reversed-or-refunded-transactions)) — it is not automatic just because a status changes.

How it works

Failed is one of several distinct outcomes a withdrawal can reach — it's different from Cancelled (stopped, e.g. blocked as high risk) and from ActionRequired or UnderReview (still being worked, not yet a final outcome). Common triggers for Failed include:

  • The provider explicitly confirms no transfer was created (a clean rejection).
  • The provider reports a final failure after the transfer was attempted.
  • The provider response is flagged as an error, decline, or explicit failure status.

Because a wrongly-marked Failed transfer that actually reached the recipient would risk paying them twice on a retry, Paysavo's system treats a genuinely uncertain outcome (timeout, unclear response) as UnderReview instead of Failed, and only reconciles with the provider before anything is retried. See [How withdrawal status works](how-withdrawal-status-works) for how Failed fits into the full status list.

Failed withdrawals are retry-eligible on Paysavo's side, but retrying is performed by Paysavo's operations team, not by you directly — there's no self-service retry button in the app.

What to do next

  • Check whether your wallet balance already reflects a refund for this withdrawal.
  • If you were charged (debited) and haven't seen a refund, contact support with your transaction reference.
  • If you'd like the transfer attempted again, contact support — this is a Paysavo-side action, not one you can trigger yourself.
