Why is my Interac e-Transfer deposit taking a while to show up?
Interac e-Transfer deposits are matched to your account automatically by reading the transfer email and checking the security question answer — if the answer doesn't match exactly, the deposit can't be auto-matched and needs manual follow-up.

Depositing by Interac e-Transfer works differently from EFT, Wire, or Bill Pay deposits: Interac deposits are matched and credited to your account automatically, without a person needing to manually check for them first. That automatic matching depends on getting the transfer details exactly right.
How it works
When you send an Interac e-Transfer to Paysavo, the system periodically checks for new transfer notification emails and tries to match each one to a customer. Part of that matching relies on the security question answer set on the e-Transfer matching what Paysavo expects. If the details match, the deposit is recognized and credited automatically without anyone needing to intervene.
Troubleshooting a delayed Interac deposit
If your Interac deposit hasn't shown up yet, the most common causes are:
- The security question answer doesn't match exactly. Even small differences (extra spaces, different capitalization if your bank enforces exact-match, etc.) can prevent automatic matching. Double-check you used the exact answer shown in your Paysavo deposit instructions.
- The transfer hasn't been picked up in the latest automatic check yet. These checks run periodically rather than instantly — a very recent transfer may simply not have been processed yet.
- The reference details on the transfer don't match what Paysavo expects for your account.
If the automatic match fails, the deposit doesn't disappear — it's flagged for manual follow-up. If it's been a while and you don't see your deposit credited, contact support with the amount, the approximate time you sent the transfer, and the email/name the transfer was sent from — this is exactly the information Ops needs to manually locate and match a transfer that the automatic check couldn't match on its own.
