Why was I asked to verify my card payment with my bank?

For some card deposits your bank must confirm the payment is really you (3D Secure) before it goes through — this challenge is handled automatically by Stripe as part of confirming the payment, not a separate Paysavo step.

On this page

If you're asked to approve a card deposit through your bank's own app or a one-time code screen mid-payment, that's your card issuer's 3D Secure (also called Strong Customer Authentication) check — it's a standard bank-side security step for card payments, not something unique to Paysavo.

How it works

Paysavo's card deposit form is built on Stripe's Payment Element and confirmed with Stripe's confirmPayment call, which handles any required authentication automatically as part of completing the payment — including redirecting you to your bank if a challenge is required, then bringing you back to Paysavo once it's resolved.

What to do next

  • Complete the verification step shown by your bank (approve in your banking app, enter a one-time code, etc.) — this is expected and doesn't mean anything is wrong with your Paysavo account.
  • If your bank's verification step fails or times out, your card payment will not go through and your wallet won't be credited — see 'Why did my card payment to fund my wallet fail or get declined?' for what happens next.
  • If you're never shown a verification step at all, that's also normal — whether it's required depends on your card issuer and the payment, not on anything you can control from Paysavo's side.
