Why did my card payment to fund my wallet fail or get declined?

Card deposits are processed live through Stripe — if your card is declined or the payment fails, you land on a Payment Failed page and your wallet is never touched; try again with the same or a different card.

On this page

When you fund your Paysavo wallet with a debit or credit card, the card payment itself is processed by Stripe, Paysavo's card-payment partner — Paysavo doesn't decide whether your specific card is approved or declined, Stripe and your card issuer do, in real time.

How it works

1. You enter your card details in Paysavo's secure card payment form (built on Stripe's own payment form, so your full card number is never seen or stored by Paysavo).
2. Stripe attempts to charge your card immediately.
3. If the charge succeeds, your wallet is credited. If it's declined or fails for any reason (insufficient funds, an issuer block, expired card, incorrect details, etc.), no money is taken and your wallet balance does not change.
4. Either way you're taken to a confirmation step; a failed or declined attempt lands you on a Payment Failed page with an error message, rather than silently retrying on its own.

What to do next

  • Double-check your card number, expiry date, CVV, and billing details for typos.
  • Confirm with your card issuer that the card is active and allows this type of online/card-not-present payment (some banks block these by default).
  • Try again — either the same card (if you suspect a typo) or a different card.
  • If declines continue, contact your card issuer first, since they hold the actual decline reason; Paysavo only receives that the attempt failed, not always why.
