Accepting payments on your own website with an Express Merchant integration

An Express Merchant profile gives you a client ID and client secret you can use to accept Paysavo payments directly from your own website or app, instead of only sharing a payment link — your merchant profile must be approved and active for these credentials to work.

On this page

If you set up your Paysavo merchant profile as Express rather than Standard, you're given API credentials — a client ID and client secret — so you can integrate Paysavo payments directly into your own website or application, rather than only sharing a payment link.

How authentication works

Every request your integration makes is verified against your specific client ID and client secret together. If either is wrong, or your merchant profile can't be matched to that credential pair, the request is rejected outright.

Even with valid credentials, requests are refused if your merchant profile is:

  • Still pending review (not yet approved), or
  • Disapproved.

In either case, you'll get a "temporarily unavailable" style response rather than a payment being processed — this is the same underlying merchant approval status that governs your Standard payment link, so an Express integration doesn't skip that requirement.

What to do next

  • Treat your client secret like a password: don't expose it in client-side/browser code, only in server-to-server calls.
  • If your integration suddenly stops authenticating, check your merchant profile's status first before assuming the credentials themselves are broken.
  • If you need your client ID/secret regenerated (for example after a suspected leak), contact support.
