Sending a gift card to someone else
You can send a gift card's redemption code to a different email or phone number, but a personal message or the recipient's name you type in is kept on your Paysavo receipt only — it isn't delivered with the card.
On this page
When buying a gift card, you can specify a different recipient email (and, for some cards, a recipient phone number and country) so the card is delivered to someone else instead of your own inbox. There's an important limit to know about, though: any personal message or the recipient's name you enter is stored by Paysavo for your own purchase record — it is not included in what actually gets delivered to the recipient.
How it works
- Recipient email / phone — if you provide these, they're sent to the gift card provider so the redemption code is delivered there instead of to your own account email. If you leave them blank, the card defaults to your own email.
- Recipient name and personal message — these are saved as part of your Paysavo transaction record (visible on your own receipt/history), but are not passed along to the provider and so are not part of what the recipient receives. If you're expecting the recipient to see a personalized note from you when the card arrives, that won't happen through this field — you'd need to tell them separately.
Troubleshooting
- Recipient says they never got anything — double-check the recipient email/phone was entered correctly before purchase; Paysavo can't resend to a different address after the fact through self-service, so contact support if it was mistyped.
- Recipient didn't see my message — this is expected given how the feature currently works; the message is for your own records, not for delivery.
