Why does a gift card show as 'temporarily unavailable'?
A specific gift card can be marked temporarily unavailable for your country/currency after Paysavo's team disables it following repeated failed orders from the provider — it's a deliberate safeguard, not a bug on your end.
On this page
If you try to buy a specific gift card and see a message like "This gift card is temporarily unavailable. Please try another," it means Paysavo has deliberately paused that specific card (for your country and currency) rather than let you attempt a purchase that's likely to fail.
How it works
Paysavo tracks, per gift card and per country/currency combination, how often the provider rejects purchase attempts for it. This is purely a monitoring signal by itself — a string of failures never automatically takes a gift card offline. When Paysavo's team reviews that signal and decides a specific route is unreliable, they can turn it off manually; only then does it start showing as temporarily unavailable to customers, and only for that specific combination (other countries/currencies for the same card, or the same country/currency for a different card, are unaffected unless separately disabled).
What to do next
- Try a different gift card, or the same brand in a different denomination if offered — the block is specific to the exact card/country/currency combination that's currently disabled.
- This isn't caused by anything about your account, payment method, or wallet balance — it happens before Paysavo even checks those.
- If you were mid-checkout and this appeared after previously seeing the card as available, it means the card was disabled between browsing and confirming — this can happen occasionally as Paysavo reacts to provider issues in real time.
