Why did my exchange rate change before I confirmed?
An exchange rate quote is only valid for a short window (currently 60 seconds) — if you take longer than that to confirm, it expires and you'll be given a fresh one.
## Direct answer
When Paysavo shows you an exchange rate to confirm, that quote is only valid for a short time — currently 60 seconds in Paysavo's system. If you take longer than that to confirm, the quote expires automatically and you'll need a new one, which may show a different rate.
## How it works
Rates move, so Paysavo locks in a quote for only a brief window rather than letting an old rate be confirmed indefinitely. Once that window passes, confirming the old quote is rejected with a specific "quote expired" outcome, and a fresh quote (with a current rate) is generated instead. This protects both you and Paysavo from finalizing a trade at a rate that's no longer accurate. This 60-second window is Paysavo's current configuration and, like any configuration, could change in the future — but as of this writing, that's the window you can expect (app/Services/ExchangeMoneyService.php).
## Troubleshooting
- My rate changed right when I confirmed: this is expected if there was any delay (even a page reload, a distraction, a slow connection) between when the rate was shown and when you tapped confirm.
- I keep hitting "quote expired": try to complete the confirmation promptly after the rate is shown, since it's a short window.
## Still need help?
If you're seeing a "quote expired" error immediately after loading a rate (not after any delay), contact Paysavo support.
